I.T. Kingdom Goals: Nourishing Bodies And Spirits In JK Village (Children’s Feeding Program)

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, a heartfelt mission unfolded in JK Village, Barangay San Roque, Alang-alang, Leyte, as the Information Technology Department of Virtual Staffing Solutions (VSS) turned their Kingdom goals into action. Led by VP Raymund Austria, Senior I.T. Manager Genesis Homeres, and the dedicated I.T. teams from Ormoc and Tacloban, the group, with the support of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity of Alang-alang, launched a feeding program that brought warmth, nutrition, and hope to 250 malnourished children.

JK Village is home to families struggling with poverty, where children often survive on just two meals a day—sometimes only rice with salt, sugar, or soy sauce. Moved by compassion, the I.T. team united in generosity, raising funds to prepare a hearty and nourishing rice porridge with egg, paired with refreshing juice. The meal was not only welcomed—it was joyfully received, with some children returning for refills and even their parents being offered a bowl to share in the blessing.

But this act of kindness didn’t end with physical nourishment. Being a Sunday, the team also fed hearts and souls with the Word of God. Sharing Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” the message reminded everyone present that each child is deeply treasured in the heart of Jesus. This truth left an imprint on the hearts of the children, their families, the volunteers, and especially the VSS I.T. team who faithfully lived out Christ’s example.

This Kingdom-driven effort reflects the spirit of joyful giving, reminding us all that serving others is both a privilege and a calling. Kudos to the VSS I.T. Department—your faithful service has made an eternal impact and will inspire and encourage others to do the same. Truly, as the Lord said “well done, My good and faithful servants.
