May 31,2025 – Saturday marked a meaningful milestone for VSS Missions with the successful launch of our breakfast drive outreach, “Pamahaw Espesyal: Hatid Almusal para sa Tricycle Drivers!”(Special Breakfast: Meals Delivered for our Tricycle Drivers) This initiative, held in celebration of National Volunteers Week, came to life through collaboration, compassion, and the desire to give back to the community.

The idea was born from a simple yet sincere thought—to give thanks to the tricycle drivers who tirelessly transport our employees day in and day out. Rain or shine, early or late, they ensure our people reach the office safely. Many of them are fathers to our employees, neighbors in our community, or drivers who don’t even own the tricycles they operate—often renting them and splitting whatever they earn with the vehicle’s owner. This challenging reality sometimes forces them to skip meals just to ensure they have something to bring home to their families. Our breakfast drive, though simple, was our way of saying: “We see you. We appreciate you.” One meal may seem small, but for many, it represents comfort, recognition, and the priceless feeling of being remembered.

Early that Saturday morning, volunteers from both HMY and HQ gathered as early as 6:30 AM, distributing hot meals to tricycle drivers across the streets of Tacloban. Alongside the meals, we shared a sticker that read: "A company rooted in faith grows not only in success, but in values, purpose, and lasting impact." This wasn’t just branding, it was a reminder. A message of care, not only from company to driver, but from one brother or sister in faith to another. We hope that when our tricycle drivers see the sticker, they remember they are part of something bigger—that we at VSS care for them, trust them, and ride with them in spirit.

Each meal pack also came with a heartfelt message in Waray: "Bugto, nagtratrabaho ka hin duro ngan karuyag namon pasalamatan ka pinaagi hini nga guti-ay nga pagkaon nga amon igin-andam para ha imo. Padayon la ha imo maupay nga pag trabaho. Dios mabulig ngan magbendisyon ha imo ngan imo pamilya." - ("Brother, you’ve been working so hard, and we want to thank you through this simple meal we’ve prepared for you. Keep up the good work. May God help and bless you and your family.")

A simple message, but one that carries deep gratitude and a prayer for continued strength and blessings for them and their families.

This initiative is another beautiful entry in the growing book of VSS Missions—proof that small acts done with great love leave a lasting impact.

Hebrews 13:16 - "Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."

Luke 3:11 - "Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise."
