VSS Extends Compassion to Employees Affected by Typhoon Opong

When Typhoon Opong (international name: Bualoi) struck the Philippines on September 25, 2025, it brought torrential rains and fierce winds that battered Luzon and the Visayas. The devastation left countless families displaced, homes submerged, and properties destroyed. Tragically, several lives were also lost in the storm’s wake.

Among those affected were 125 employees of Virtual Staffing Solutions (VSS) residing in Ormoc City, Biliran Province, Merida, and other parts of Leyte. Floodwaters in these areas rose from knee-deep to neck-high, forcing many to evacuate. Yet, despite the personal trials they faced, many VSS employees still reported for work—demonstrating loyalty, resilience, and a remarkable sense of duty. In the same week, 2 separate fire incidents also happened in Tacloban City and another in Catbalogan, Samar, where again two of our employees’ houses were affected.

Moved by compassion and anchored in its faith-based mission, VSS immediately mobilized relief efforts to extend help to its own people first. Care packages, and emotional support were swiftly provided to ensure that no one in the VSS family felt alone during this crisis. This heartfelt initiative reaffirmed the company’s core belief that caring for its employees is a sacred responsibility, especially in times of hardship.
